Frequently Asked Questions
How is coaching different from therapy?
Therapy often deals with past events so people can live more happy lives in the present. Coaching places the focus on the future. While one's past can come up in sessions, our attention will focus on what you can do now to move forward to the life you most want to live.

I'm happy to discuss your goals in a free consultation to help you decide which approach will be best for you.

Both therapy and coaching are professional practices that require specific training and qualifications.
How does the coaching process work?
Sessions usually last one hour. Together we will set a focus for each session so you get the most out of it.

Coaching is a private conversation either in person or over Zoom.

I also offer walking and nature sessions.
How does coaching while walking work?
Have you ever noticed the clarity that comes when going for a walk? I have found walking and talking can be a helpful way to engage in coaching.

This can happen either in person by meeting up for a walk, or by talking on the phone while walking. I am based in Brisbane (Australia), but occasionally will travel for sessions.

Walking also boosts well-being.
Initial 20-minute consultation: Free

In our consultation we'll explore options for single sessions or ongoing work together. In most cases, I recommend undertaking a program of six initial sessions as the best outcomes come about over time.

My rates vary depending on the length of engagement and the style of coaching. I am happy to provide clear pricing by phone or email.

There is no obligation from our free consultation and I will not do any heavy selling. My goal is to be of service to you.

I have a supportive pricing program that honours financial needs of families being able to get the support they need.
How much is a coaching program or session?
What is your refund policy?
If you decide that coaching is not for you or I am not the right person to support you, I will refund any amounts from session you didn't use.

What is your cancellation or change policy?
I understand if things come up and you need to reschedule. I ask that you give me 24-hours notice to help me best plan my day and make the time available to someone else.

As a one-off last-minute change, I can wear the cost. Otherwise, changes less than 24 hours prior to the session will incur a full session cost.
I’m interested in getting support for my son or daughter, is coaching right for them?
In my experience, young people respond very well to coaching. It is personal, confidential, and honours their strengths.

Coaching requires willingness to participate and openness to making changes.
I recommend scheduling a free consultation where I can chat with you about your concerns and explore options for the right kind of support.
